Leopard & Mediterranean Tortoise Grazing Lawn

This grass seed mixture is comprised purely of fescue grasses.  Fescue grasses are considered safe for grazing Leopard and Mediterranean tortoises such as:

• Testudo graeca
• Testudo ibera
• Testudo hermanni
• Testudo marginata
• Agrionemys horsfeldii

Fescue grasses are a slow growing grass variety.  They spread outwards to create a mat like lawn.  They can be mown down to the short height of 2.5cm, making it easy for your tortoise to roam around and graze.  Fescues are pretty well tolerant of poor climatic and soil conditions so this mixture can grow relatively well anywhere in the UK.  You do not need to be an expert gardener to maintain this lawn for your tortoise.

Grazing of grass should only be part of your tortoises balanced diet and fresh water should be available at all times.
