Farming Diary with John Muirhead Part 1

A vintage farming program going into the pioneering wheat growing practices of John Muirhead, Eastlands Farm, Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex in the early 1980s. John is the great uncle of the current owners of Grass Seed Direct. His knowledge has been passed down to the working Muirhead family of farmers over the the last few generations.

 

Speed the Plough Video - Bridge of Allan March 2025

This video shows the soil health of our fields. The field in this video is a winter oat stubble preceded with 4 years of a blend of clovers to enrich the soil and to provide high protein forage. The oats that came off the field reached the milling spec for the gluten free porridge oats. Ploughing has been done by J M Stewart who has been working our fields for over 60 years.
