Maize, Sunflowers & Sorghum
Maize, Sunflowers & Sorghum
Maize, Sunflowers and Sorghum are all good options for game cover. Their height offers pheasant and partridges cover from overhead predators. They can also be used as a windbreak for more vulnerable crops.
Nutrient requirements
Game crops require P and K levels to be ADAS Index 2 and benefit from 20-50kg N/ha in the seed bed or an application once established. Alternatively the site should be spread with FYM before sowing in the spring.
