Deer Grazing Mix (14kg/Acre)

This mixture contains a wide variety of grasses, legumes, herbs and fodder crops to provide grazing deer with a nutritional and balanced feed.   The timothy and rye grasses are high in sugar and highly palatable.  Timothy is also high in fibre.  As the rye grasses are intermediate and late varieties they can cope with cooler upland climate and shaded woodland areas.  Cocksfoot provides early growth foliage and is great in drought prone soils. 

The legumes (clovers and black medic) provide the deer with high sugar feed.  They also improve the soil as their nitrogen fixating properties boost the nitrogen content and therefore supporting grass growth.  The herbs (lucerne, sainfoin, fenugreek & plantain) provide a wide range of minerals including Iron, vitamins A, B & D, Magnesium, Phosphorous and calcium.  The fodder crops, turnip & rape provide high fibre feeding as well as a high mineral content.

This mix also contains buckwheat, chicory and meadow foxtail all of which are known to be some of the deers' favourite plants.

Please remember to monitor the area to be sure the plot is adequate for the numbers of wildlife grazing.
