Leaf Spot
Identifying markers:
- Elongated oval spots on the leaves, Dark brown margins and brown centres.
- Crowns and roots of plants develop dark brown rot, grasses thin and die off.
- Unseasonably warm temperatures with dry compacted soil can spark an episode of leaf spot.
- High humidity, extended moisture, cutting too short and too much Nitrogen fertilizer will create ideal conditions for rapid spread.
- Leaf spot mostly affects perennial ryegrass but can spread to smooth stalked meadow grass, bent grasses and fescues.
