Brown Patch Lawn Disease
Identifying markers:
- Circles of dead sunken grass up to 1 metre diameter.
- The perimeter is smoky grey in colour as the grass blades darken then wilt and die.
- Typically happens when the weather has been warm to hot with high humidity.
- Wet leaves left on lawn, over fertilizing and excessive watering can promote the spread of this fungi.
- Mostly happens with perennial rye grass and bent grasses but can also occur in smooth stalked meadow grass.
